Plugin Installation
The SMS.MD plugin for WordPress is installed manually from a ZIP archive — the process takes no more than 5 minutes. After activation, the plugin will appear in the WordPress sidebar menu.

Download the plugin ZIP archive
Click the "Download Plugin" button above and save the file to your computer. -
Open "Add Plugin" in WordPress
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New, then click the "Upload Plugin" button at the top of the page. -
Upload and activate the plugin
Select the downloaded ZIP file, click "Install Now", and once installed click "Activate Plugin".

Get your API key from the SMS.MD dashboard
Register at partner.sms.md, top up your balance, then go to Settings → API to copy your API key. -
Configure the plugin and enable notifications
Open SMS.MD from the WordPress sidebar. Enter your API key and sender name (alias). Then enable the events you need under WordPress Events and WooCommerce Events.
Important: Before sending SMS, register your sender name with Moldovan mobile operators (Moldcell, Orange, Unite). Registration takes 1–2 business days. Our support team will guide you through the process.
Supported Events
After installation, you can enable or disable each notification type and customize the SMS text using variables:
- User registration — SMS when a new account is created on the site
- New comment — notification to admin with the comment text and a link to the post
- Order → Processing — SMS to admin and customer when a new order is placed
- Order → Completed — notification when an order is shipped or fulfilled
- Order → On Hold — waiting for payment confirmation
- Order → Cancelled — notification when an order is cancelled by the customer or admin
For each event you can set a custom SMS text using variables: {author}, {email}, {comment}, {post_title}, {post_url}, {site_name}, and more — depending on the event type.
